Cherry AI (also known as Cherry Studio) is an open-source, cross-platform desktop AI assistant client. Its core feature is to aggregate and unify more than 30 mainstream AI models from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, and it offers knowledge bases, AI image generation, and no-code app development. The goal is to reduce fragmentation when using multiple AI services by providing a single, unified platform.
The Cherry AI client itself is free and open-source software. Accessing its features requires you to configure and pay for the API costs of third-party AI models you call (e.g., GPT-4, Claude). Costs depend on the model provider's pricing and your usage.
The knowledge base feature allows you to upload formats such as PDF, DOCX, TXT. The system vectorizes the content and stores it. When you ask questions in a conversation, the AI will first retrieve relevant information from your uploaded knowledge base and base its answers on this, improving accuracy and professionalism.
Cherry AI supports multiple data security options. When using local-only models, data is processed locally; when using cloud APIs, data is sent to the respective model providers. The software supports local backups and WebDAV backups and uses AES-256 encryption. Enterprise users can opt for on-premises deployment to fully control their data.
Currently, Cherry AI offers an Android client; an iOS version is coming soon. Its desktop clients support Windows, macOS, and Linux, and offer data synchronization across devices.
First, download and install the client for your system from the official site. After launching, configure the AI model service providers for which you have API keys (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) in Settings. Once configured, you can create assistants in the chat interface, set parameters, and start interacting with the AI models.
